Indonesian Yakitori, Ayam Bakar

Ayam is chicken and Bakar means “broil” for grilled chicken, but like Ikambakar, it is covered in banana leaves and cooked over charcoal.

The difference with Japanese yakitori is that it is not cut into small pieces and grilled on a skewer, but grilled vigorously.

Like the Ikan bakar, it is also served with special furikake, spices and seasonings.

Charcoal-grilled spicy chicken

Like the Ikan bakar, it’s more than just charcoal-grilled chicken.
Since it is seasoned with spices from the stage when it is heated by charcoal fire, you will be surprised if you eat it thinking it is a strongly grilled yakitori.

Like Ikan bakar, it’s a good idea to eat it as is at first and then try adjusting it with the seasonings that come with it.

We will continue to introduce Indonesian cuisine on an irregular basis.
See you in the next article.
